Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father taught school while her mother was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. Beginning at a very early stage of life, McCormick loved to sing and dance and would often present puppet shows to youngsters in the area. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to being contacted by an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick got her first big role when she got a part in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she starred in a second commercial on television for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the youngest daughter of the three towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick stated in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. He was just 19. She was 16. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. The timing, however, wasn't right.
